Welcome to Ruskin Junior School


Whilst we endeavor to ensure that our children and families have the best experience at Ruskin, there may be times when you feel that an issue should be brought to the attention of the school.

There are many ways in which this can be done. If you have a concern over the progress of your child, their behaviour or want to find out more about how they are doing, we host Parent Consultations three times a year. You may want to raise an issue with your child's class teacher outside of this period. If this is the case, you have a number of options:

1) Make an appointment in the office to meet with your child's class teacher. If you inform the office of your availability, the class teacher will call you back and make a mutually convenient time to meet and discuss your concerns.

2) All teachers are available on the playground at the beginning of the school day from 8.40am for parents to have a quick chat, or arrange a time for another meeting.

3) The Senior Leadership Team (head teacher, deputy head teacher, family coordinator, Inclusion Manager and year leaders) are on the school gate each morning. This is an ideal time to raise any concerns you have and we can then offer advice and put you in touch with the right teacher or direct you to the office for further information.

4) You can contact the office or the head teacher directly via email or telephone to discuss any issues you have:

If having spoken to the class teacher, year leader and finally the head teacher you feel that your concerns have not been adequately addressed we do have a more formal route.

We obviously hope that any concerns you have, can be dealt with quickly and efficiently in school.  However, we want to ensure that our parents have a clear route to escalating a concern should they feel it necessary.
