The Wild Way Home - a competition from the National Literacy Trust

Swindon Music Cooperative

SMC are intending to run online music courses over the summer holidays. There are various courses with each having no more than 10 participants. The courses will run for 5 weeks - and are due to begin w/c 20th July 2020. The full cost of each course would be £16.50. If your child is interested please see the below links depending on their age:

Swindon Libraries - Summer Reading Challenge Blog

The launch date of 6th July is fast approaching and Swindon Libraries are busy getting everything ready for children and their families in Swindon to join in.  Attached is a newsletter issued by them and is here for your information.

Swindon Libraries are running a blog this year in line with the summer reading challenge detailed below. They would like input from children and parents around Swindon relating to various categories of books. If you or child would like to take part - please download and complete the relevant form from the list below and email them to Hayley in the school office - hward@ruskin-jun.swindon.sch.uk.

Virtual School Games Competition

Fortius PE have created a virtual school games competition which is open to everyone!  You simply need to register to compete - an email will be issued on a Monday with details of that weeks activities,  Information about Athletics/Jumps and Athletics/Run and Throw

There will be a prize for the school that has the most participants over the course of the 5 weeks.  It can include parents and other family members!

Summer Reading Challenge 2020

The Reading Agency is launching this years reading challenge on Friday 5th June - the theme is: Silly Squad.  This year the challenge has been made digital due to our current circumstances around the country.  Children can sign up on their dedicated website:

There will be lots of activities and fund things to take part in on the website.

Swindon Libraries will also be launching a Summer Reading Challenge - this will not be until 6th July.  There will be no physical materials this year, the offer will include a full range of online activities, stories and a dedicated blog! There will also be a fantastic range of e-books, e-audio books, e-magazines and e-comics which will be available free to all library members!

If you are not a member of the library at the moment - it is now possible to join online!

Fundraising News
